BIO

Coming from a multi-generational musical family, music has always been central to Alex’s life. At eight years old, she picked up the electric bass and quickly became hooked on the iconic lines of Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power, Weather Report, and Earth, Wind & Fire—learning them note for note with the guidance of her father, her first teacher. Acoustic bass followed naturally, setting her on a path toward a professional career. She went on to study jazz performance and music education at the University of Connecticut, where she was mentored by Kenny Davis.

As an electric and acoustic bassist, Alex has worked with a diverse roster of artists including Sara Bareilles, Lin-Manuel Miranda, The Killers, Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor, Gloria Estefan, Max Martin, Josh Groban, Renee Fleming, Black Thought, Ledisi, Calum Scott, Cynthia Erivo, Ben Platt, and many more. She often doubles on cello and vocals, and her film score credits include Chicken Run 2 (Netflix), FUBAR (Netflix), and Emergency (Amazon).

She has appeared on national platforms including The Tonight Show, The Late Show, NPR’s Tiny Desk, and has played iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and The Hollywood Bowl. Alex toured nationally with In the Heights and The Book of Mormon, and originated the bass chair on two Tony Award-winning best musicals - The Band’s Visit (also featured on the Grammy-winning cast album) and The Outsiders.

In addition to her performance work, Alex is an accomplished Music Supervisor, having contributed to feature films, television series, and documentaries. Her credits include Rebecca Hall’s Passing (Netflix), A.V. Rockwell’s A Thousand and One (Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner 2023), and the Apple TV+ holiday musical Spirited starring Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds with music by Pasek & Paul.
